Shamus and Bonnie

When I see your gorgeous photographs, taken for me to work from, I do often wonder what was going through the minds of the pets that sit before me. Were they waiting for a treat? Were they promised WALKIES if they sit and be good?

In this example, I got to find out exactly what one character in particular was thinking .. Shamus in his photo reference, was eyeing up a can of Guinness!! Well it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere after all. I loved drawing these two, their expressions are perfect.

I had the pleasure of drawing these two - Shamus and Bonnie - for Stu in Australia but you never guess what he grew up in my hometown, I can’t believe what a small world it is.
